Alright, people weren't exactly looking forward to this one too much since both the other G.I. Joe movies were less than stellar (and that's putting it kindly), but there was reason to be cautiously optimistic.

After all, G.I. Joe Origins: Snake Eyes had a talented cast led by Henry Golding and the trailers weren't too bad either, so it seemed that perhaps we'd finally get a good G.I. Joe movie.

What we got instead was the essence of mediocrity.

The acting is absolutely fine, the world-building is pretty good and it can be fun, but it's also an entirely routine and emotionless action flick you'll forget the majority of mere hours after seeing it. So, it's safe to say that this was not worth the extended wait in any way, shape or form.

Hollywood should definitely leave G.I. Joe alone after this, which thankfully looks likely since this sank like a stone at the box office.
