9. Kurt & Courtney (2008)

In the light of the recent documentary, Montage of Heck, Kurt & Courtney is way too interesting to be ignored. Nick Broomfield interviews many people connected to the subjects and whether or not you believe some of the incredible things claimed, isn’t really the point - this is super entertaining.

Covering some of the conspiracy theories surrounding Cobain’s death, by way of contract killer and an autopsy report that raises questions, this is an energetic look at Cobain and Love’s relationship and the winding up of one of music’s most tragic losses.

Fans of Cobain and Nirvana will love the insight and clips of home movies, but fans of Love may find this a tad inflammatory towards her and it sometimes downright attacks her as a vicious attention seeker. So, it does come across biased, but the style in film-making and the intrigue that this film invokes is enough to keep you invested until the very end.
