It's almost becoming a cliche now that Star Wars directors hide extremely famous people - including actual princes, popstars like Gary Barlow and actors as lofty as Simon Pegg - in their movies. And it was JJ Abrams who scored argaubly the most famous hidden cameo (aside from their royal highnesses, of course) thanks to the decision to hide Daniel Craig in The Force Awakens.

The director asked Craig to play the stormtrooper who Rey manipulates with her Jedi powers into freeing her. It's easily one of the most successful comedy sequences in the entire film and it improves massively when you realise it's the James Bond actor under the helmet.

And for his part, Craig did well to keep it secret, reacting to the rumours with delicious naughtiness:
