7. "Star Beast" - Alien
When Dan O'Bannon sat down to write the movie that would eventually become alien, he probably imagined something a bit more B-movie in his head than what we got in the end, and who could blame him? Alien was the first sci-fi movie to blend itself seamlessly with horror, and the cold and simple title that Ridley Scott eventually chose for his movie proved to be a masterstroke. O'Bannon's original title, though? "Star Beast." Now if there were ever a title that instantly conjures up images of cheesy '50s sci-fi movies, it's that one.
