12 Fantastic Films You Only Remember For One Scene
7. Reservoir Dogs - Mr. Blonde
After a diamond heist goes wrong, a group of sharp-suited and colourfully-named criminals hide in an abandoned warehouse, where they spend the most part of ninety minutes accusing each other of being a mole. Thanks to Tarantino's now-trademark non-linear narrative, snappy dialogue and casual violence it's better than it sounds; with one scene proving particularly hard to forget. As you've probably guessed, it's the one that involves Mr. Blonde, the cop, the razor and the radio. After tying officer Marvin Nash (Kirk Baltz) to a chair, Mr. Blonde (Michael Madsen) pulls a blade out of his boot and edges closer to his captive's face. What makes the scene truly terrifying is how he relishes every second of it; shuffling along to the Stealers Wheel song 'Stuck in the Middle with You' playing in the background before slicing off the cop's right ear. At this point, and in a rare moment of self-censorship, the camera 'looks' away - leaving only Nash's screams echoing through the warehouse walls.
