12 Fearsome Movie Villains Who Didn't Actually Kill Anyone

10. Don Logan - Sexy Beast

Characters don't come any more intense than this guy, the hulking villain from the 2000 Black comedy who is the ultimate definition of scary. The combination of great direction by Jonathon Glazer and superb acting from Ben Kingsley as Don makes him a truly terrifying threat.

Sexy Beast starts off in measured fashion, setting up the story of retired criminal 'Gal' Gove, his wife and close friends living out a glorious retirement in a glamorous villa in Spain. Then Don Logan enters proceedings and turns Gal's life upside down.

The intimidation dished out by Logan is subtle at first, quite literally standing over Gal and his friends as he attempts to convince the ex criminal to undertake one last job. The tension throughout these scenes is incredible, the audience and Gal hoping that Don will just leave. Logan's presence on the film builds to an incredible crescendo, literally exploding to life in a tirade of verbal and physical abuse towards Gal and his loved ones.

While there is little doubt that Logan would have killed off screen at some point, it is not directly stated, and he does not take any one out in this movie. In fact, (spoilers) Logan ends up being the film's first casualty, Gal's loved ones eventually taking Don down.

The choice to kill off Logan was a poor choice as the film really lost its way after this moment, as if the director didn't quite realise how strong Kingsley's performance would be, while denying us a spinoff.
