Lone Suspect

Faith movies always do well at the North American box office. By catering to a very specific audience, movies like God's Not Dead have gone on to rake in tens of millions of dollars in box-office receipts on minuscule budgets. With a built-in audience, they almost always make a profit.

However, they're also incredibly easy to take the piss out of, not least because their small budgets usually lead to pretty spotty production values, and their overtly religious pandering transforms their plots and characters into cringeworthy travesties if you're not the target audience.

Faith Based, then, is an attempt to send these kind of films up, chronicling two unreligious friends setting out to make one of these movies in an attempt to make an easy profit. It could end up being a striking parody, or it might end up feeling as lazy and tone-deaf as the releases it's supposedly making fun of.
