You'd be forgiven if you didn't even realise a J.R.R. Tolkien biography was in development. Nicholas Hoult stars as the famous writer, with Lily Collins as his muse Edith, with the film set to follow his life as a professor through to the inspirational events that led to the creation of The Hobbit, Lord of the Rings and The Simarillion.

Director Dome Karukoski is making his English language debut with the flick, with four first-look images from the project being revealed on Twitter. Most feature Hoult as the titular, moody writer, highlighting his relationship with Edith. It's out in May, so a trailer shouldn't be too far off either.
