12 Great Recent Movie Performances Destined To Be Forgotten

2. Seann William Scott - Bloodline

For many, Seann William Scott is still that obnoxious frat guy-type personality from American Pie. But for anyone who has seen his recent work like in movies like Goon and its sequel, the man has much more to offer acting-wise. With his latest cinematic project Bloodline, he transitions from funny frat guy to ice-cold serial killer and he absolutely nails it.

Scott's character Evan is a high school guidance counselor who talks with many traumatized and abused children every day until eventually, he decides to stop these abusers permanently. Although the film's sleek direction and gorgeous cinematography are to be credited, it's Seann William Scott who makes the film so effective. His shifts between quietly submissive husband and unfeeling killer are extremely subtle but made noticeable enough through the nuances of Scott's performance. He portrays this character so perfectly because you never know what's going to happen and he never gives you the chance to feel comfortable.

Unfortunately, without much of a marketing push from the studio, Bloodline was never going to receive much of an audience at release. However, everyone should take the time to check it out, particularly if they're a fan of the premise or genre, as Scott's work here will completely change your opinion of him.
