12 Greatest Lone Wolf Characters In Movies
10. James Bond
There are very few characters in the movie industry more iconic than James Bond. This smooth-talking spy may be considered outdated thanks to his less favourable behaviour, but the character is still a massive contributor to the loner typecast, as across his twenty-six movie run, he has always worked best flying solo.
The agent with a licence to kill has spent most of his career fighting evil villains and saving countries from mass destruction. With so many dangerous missions and life or death situations, you would expect him to find a team to go along with him, but that is never the case as he ventures into foreseeable danger with his trusty Walther PPK and no back-up.
There have been many great Bond films that toy with his lone wolf status, with Goldeneye being one of the best, as the one time that he does work side-by-side with someone, they end up becoming the film's main antagonist.
While Bond certainly doesn't have trouble using others for personal gain, he never makes a job of treating them as an equal, and that helps to make him a pure example of the archetype.
