12 Greatest Lone Wolf Characters In Movies
9. Judge Dredd
The 2012 adaptation of the great 2000 AD comic strip Judge Dredd is a phenomenal - and violent - comic book movie that deserved far better box-office numbers than it received.
This film tells of Dredd as he takes a rookie out on an assessment in a high-rise block of flats, only to be trapped and hunted down by its inhabitants under orders from the crime-lord Ma-Ma. The film shows as Dredd attempts to stay alive in this hopeless situation and struggles to remain confident in the rookie's abilities.
While the character does spend a lot of time working alongside someone, he still acts as a brilliant example of the lone wolf type, as whenever he breaks away from her, you truly see him blow out into a fit of cathartic violence.
Additionally, it's clear that he considers his assessment of the young rookie Anderson to be akin to babysitting, which is a big part of the type. Seeing a lone wolf get slumped with someone less experienced is a common cliché for the archetype, as it acts as a massive test for the protagonist and allows the audience a closer eye into their work habits.
