12 Greatest MCU Moments Of 2021
7. "What Is Grief?" (WandaVision)
Vision is one of the most elegant, emotionally intelligent, and empathetic beings in the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe. The irony of him being a robot, yet almost one of the most human characters, is certainly not lost.
This has been brought out of him more and more with each appearance he has made, but easily his most eloquent and poignant nugget of wisdom came in a WandaVision flashback to just after the events of Age of Ultron. Wanda Maximoff was a young woman in a strange country, having just felt the death of her twin brother, and she was empty and alone. She couldn’t sleep and could find no respite from the pain she was in.
Vision however, someone who barely knew her at the time, spoke with her in a conversation that neither Wanda, or any fan is likely to forget. “What is grief, if not love persevering?” What a beautiful way of looking at the pain of losing a loved one.
It doesn’t make the pain any less, but it may make it easier to process if you remember why it is there and why it is so heavy. It's because you were lucky enough to love someone so much to miss them so much. Vision was one of the strongest creatures in the entire MCU, and yet he was better equipped with his words than with his powers.
