11. Kong: Skull Island - Kong Vs. The Skullcrawler
Kong: Skull Island, the franchise's second film, is another flawed but incredibly solid monster movie with far better characters than the other three instalments, as well as some legitimately great set-pieces.
This one is the film's finale, in which Kong battles the largest of the Skullcrawlers - a group of ferocious reptiles that terrorize the island. This battle had been teased and built-up throughout the film and once it arrived, it certainly didn't disappoint.
It's a brutal, punchy and well-directed spectacle and while the CGI isn't the best (which is a problem throughout the whole film), when an action scene is this enjoyable it's very hard to care.
And the best part? Kong kills the Skullcrawler by literally reaching into its mouth and pulling out its insides. How gloriously brutal.
