11. Sally, Franklin, Kirk, Jerry And Pam Never Learned The Dangers Of Hitchhiking - The Texas Chainsaw Massacre
Tobe Hooper's Texas Chainsaw Massacre is one of the horror world's most misunderstood and badly underrated films. It isn't nearly as gory as people take from the title, and is actually a fairly slow-paced story for the most part. One thing that cannot be denied however is just how creepy and unsettling the characters in the film truly are.
From Leatherface to old Grandpa, the family of killers audiences meet in the film are cruel, sadistic and obviously remain the highlight of the Texas Chainsaw series.
Sally, Franklin, Kirk, Jerry and Pam are the first film's group of teenagers primed for the slaughter, and they make mistakes right from the get go. Undoubtedly the biggest and worst mistake they make is their very first one: picking up Nubbins Sawyer, the strange hitchhiker the group pick up.
Not only does Nubbins freak all of the teenagers out and slashes Franklin's arm with a knife, but he turns out to be the ringleader of the murderous family who later pick off all but Sally from the party.
If only they hadn't picked up and annoyed the obviously crazy hitchiker.
