There’s almost nothing noteworthy about this solidly unspectacular 1980 slasher horror which sees a stalker attempt to off its young heroine, but the one thing that stands out really does stand out.

One minor character—a short-lived love interest—in this film is played by none other than future Splash star/ evergreen American everyman Tom Hanks.

In a later appearance on David Letterman’s talkshow, Hanks went on an inspired, extended comic riff detailing the film’s many working titles, dismissing it as an “epic hack and slash film” he starred in “eight hundred years ago” in which he played “a character like the professor in Gilligan’s Island—a guy who had nothing to do with anything”.

Tell us how you really feel there, Tom.

No seriously, tell us how you really feel, since the interview ended up funnier and more interesting than the entirety of the actual film.
