12 Iconic Story-Lines DC Film Universe Must Adapt Next
5. All-Star Superman
Tower Of Babel would make sense for the DC Cinematic Universe as its been so far, with Man Of Steel making for a much more morally (and visually) grey Superman that many audiences were used to. A story where Batman is technically the bad guy would certainly fit into that mould. But it'd be way more refreshing, inventive, and valuable if Zack Snyder did a complete about-face when he finally gets around to making a proper Man Of Steel sequel. All-Star Superman is a very apposite title, since it's almost certainly the greatest story ever told about the Last Son Of Krypton. Intended to be a love letter to all that was great about the character in his 75 year history, writer Grant Morrison and artist Frank Quitely took into account all iterations of Superman cheesy and grounded, gritty and sunny, sci-fi and superhero to create the ultimate Superman. It's a celebration of all things Superman, involving Lex Luthor's imprisonment, Lois Lane spending a day with superpowers, and the Man Of Steel making preparations for the Earth's safety after finding out he's slowly dying. That's probably a little too definitive an ending for a sequel but the rest is gold, showing a Superman sorely missing from Man Of Steel one who takes the time to both fight alien invasions and convince a depressed teen not to jump off a building.
