12 Iconic Story-Lines DC Film Universe Must Adapt Next
4. First Thunder
Then again if its laughs and heart and bright colours you want from these upcoming DC films, you'll most likely find it outside the core series of movies. Announced outside of the rest of their upcoming slate, Shazam came to light in a most unconventional way from Dwayne The Rock Johnson revealing that he'd been cast as Black Adam, the long-term nemesis and enthralling anti-hero who frequently comes up against the titular magica mythical superhero. Since then it's been confirmed that, whilst being co-produced with New Line Cinema, Shazam will most definitely take place in the DC Shared Cinematic Universe but according to producer Toby Emmerich the tone and the feeling of the movie will be different from the other range of comic book movies, with Shazam boasting a sense of fun and a sense of humor. Now that's more like it! There's any number of great stories that could be drawn on in that case, but if you want to tie Captain Marvel into the wider DCU, you could have him fight with his closest equal, powers-wise. Granted powers by the wizard Shazam not unlike those of Superman, First Thunder looks at the relationship between the two (when he's not in his cape Marvel is ten-year-old Billy Batsonl) and how Captain Marvel fits into the wider superhero world.
