12 Incredible Endings To Otherwise Terrible Movies
9. Skyline (2010)
Skyline is not only a terrible movie, it is also insultingly stupid while pretending to be something far greater than it ever manages to be. Despite it being an alien invasion movie, precious little of note actually happens, as it seems everyone simply forgot about writing a plot to back up the impressive effects work.
It would be wholly forgettable too were it not for the frankly bonkers ending that inverts what appears initially to be a serious downer into something far greater than the rest of the film by some distance.
Though hero Jarrod ends up getting his brain sucked out, he doesn't take this as the defeat some might and when it is implanted into one of the aliens (they use them as batteries, OBVIOUSLY), his disembodied brain manages to gain control of the creature. He then proves he's still Jarrod inside this new alien cosplay by stroking his girlfriend's face and pregnant belly and saving her by kicking some serious alien tail and carrying her off in his arms.
We don't actually get to see this properly, as it's all seen in still images, for some reason, but it's still quite the spectacle.
