12 Incredible Endings To Otherwise Terrible Movies
8. Ghostbusters (2016)
Putting aside all accusations of sexism levelled against its critics (some of which was definitely nailed on), Paul Feig's sort-of-reboot is really not very good. It starts with promise but then gets so weighed down trying to be funny that the plot ends up being left behind and the main villain is so utterly forgettable that you wonder why they even bothered.
And the ending holds one of the most frustrating things about the entire affair, thanks to the hint of what should have been its best scene. No, not the climactic battle in which Rowan goes full giant ghost mode - the real doozy is the possessed dance number that plays out under the credits, for some reason.
Watching Chris Hemsworth lead a Beetlejuice-like dance sequence is easily the film's best - and funniest - moment, and the fact that it was mostly cut and played solely as a backdrop for the credits is just ludicrous.
The post-credits Zuul sting would also qualify if it wasn't for the fact that there was never any way anyone was going to make the sequel it baits.
