7. The Imposter

The Imposter tells the story of a young French man who was somehow able to trick a Texas family into thinking he was their missing 16-year-old son.

That’s just for starters!

From there we hear about how a dark-skinned boy with a French accent fooled not only the family but also the press who had become enthralled by this ‘too good to be true’ story.

We also hear about the imposter’s multiple other schemes that managed to trick authorities into believing his multitude of false identities. At times you will be fascinated by how he was able to get away with it for so long, while at other points you will be shocked at how easy it was to dupe the governments involved in this case.

As the inconceivable story approaches its conclusion, there is one more twist left in store as we learn that the Frenchman might not have been the only person deceiving the public. The film ends with the tease of a possibly even darker secret buried in the backyard of the family.
