12 Insane Early Movie Roles By MCU Actors
3. Chris Pratt's Porn Fantasy - Deep In The Valley
These days Chris Pratt is so well known as a wisecracking A-list action star that it's a little strange to remember when you were more likely to find the schlubby comedian in a porn-themed high-concept comedy than as a galaxy-defending archaeologist, cowboy and raptor trainer.
In 2009's Deep In The Valley, though, Pratt starred opposite Kim Kardashian and Denise Richards in a movie that dared to ask: what if everything in the world ran by porn movie logic?
Pratt plays a liquor store clerk who spends his days consuming porn and selling cigarettes to underrage kids until a vintage adult video booth magically transports him and his best friend into "an alternate porno flick dimension". So, it's basically Last Action Hero if the role of Jack Slater IV was taken by Sorority Surprise 8.
Pretty soon they're getting pulled over by mini-skirted cops, getting frisked for "a concealed weapon" and hiding out in a street where every building is a sorority house full of buxom co-eds in a constant cycle of sexy car washes and cheerleading try-outs.
At no point does Pratt actually get to live his fantasies in porno world, but he does get kicked in the balls until he throws up, which oddly prefigures his later gross-bodily-fluids-instead-of-sex scene in the dire Movie 43.
Pratt plays a kind of douchey guy who learns nothing from his experience except that the weird porno guru wizard character who keeps magically cropping up to dispense useless advice is actually his father, a reveal that comes completely out of nowhere. So maybe he will be rewarded for his minimal effort by having his every fantasy fulfilled after all.
