12 Interesting Age Of Ultron Theories Based On The Trailer
3. Captain America Puts A Stop To The Ultron Program In The 1940s
As a result of that last entry, we believe that Captain America will use the Time Gem in order to go back in time as part of the plot to defeat Ultron. Part of the Age of Ultron synopsis states that Tony Stark "attempts to jumpstart a dormant peacekeeping program". That program is likely to be one that was hinted at way back in the first Captain America movie, when we saw an android at the Stark Expo. In order to prevent the creation of Ultron, Captain America will go back in time and prevent the program from ever getting under way (by telling Howard Stark what it causes in the future - perhaps Hydra interfere in some way between World War II and the present, corrupting the drones). It essentially reflects the way in which Ultron was defeated in the comic arc of the same name, when Wolverine and Sue Storm went back in time to stop Hank Pym from creating Ultron in the first place (and this movie may now actually show Michael Douglas' version of the character being involved in the program when he was younger).
