12 LGBTQ Comic Book Characters Ready For Live-Action Adaptation

11. Scandal Savage

Ultimate Spider-Woman
DC

The daughter of immortal supervillain Vandal Savage, Scandal had a violent and traumatic childhood. She was introduced to the DC universe in 2005 as a member of Gail Simone’s gang of anti-heroes, the Secret Six. Scandal has always walked the line between hero and villain. She was primarily romantically linked to the Female Fury, Knockout, from the planet Apokolips.

The CW television spinoff series, Legends of Tomorrow, has already announced that Vandal Savage will be a primary villain in the show. Dropping his daughter into the show would be an organic way to introduce her into the live-action world.

Scandal has always sided against her father, making her a possible ally for the heroes of Legend of Tomorrow and a possible love interest for the Caity Loitz character, the resurrected White Canary.

And then of course there's the matter of the Suicide Squad movie set to come out in 2016: that ensemble has always had a rotating roster of members thanks to the nature of their missions and inevitable sequels will require a new roster. Scandal’s morally questionable tactics and violent tendencies would make her a simple addition to a possible Suicide Squad movie sequel in the future.

Casting Options

Given her parentage, casting someone like this could be wide open to almost any race or age. Personally, I think drawings of her look quite a bit like Carla Gugino, but I could see movie studios wanting some one younger and I'd pick women like Natalie Dormer or Hannah Simone; actresses that have something more than just the normal look.
