Across Phase 2 the MCU featured a heavily protracted shout-out to the Star Wars movies. In each movie a character lost an arm in honour of the Rebel Alliances working title of Amputees Anonymous; Killian in Iron Man 3, Thor and Malekith in Thor: The Dark World, Bucky in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Groot in Guardians Of The Galaxy, Klaw in Avengers: Age Of Ultron, Yellowjacket in Ant-Man. Of course, not only is this a rather sycophantic approach to references (I'm still dumbfounded anybody found this even remotely amusing), but it was first conceived before Disney bought Lucasfilm, and with it the rights to Star Wars; Marvel now has the opportunity to do something a lot more creative. It'd be a no brainer for one mega-franchise to honour the other. A wink in Guardians to other galaxies would be cool, but having a sequence that utilises Star Wars assets to create a properly involved homage would be awesome. Although Tomorrowland also capitalised on the access to the Star Wars audio library, and the few people who turned out to see Brad Bird's past-it throw-back all know how that turned out.
