12 MCU Mistakes Thor: Ragnarok Must Avoid

1. Mediocre Original Music

Aside from Alan Silvestri's memorable signature theme for The Avengers, the MCU is shockingly lacking in memorable original music, which seems especially disappointing with the abundance of colourful characters within this universe.

Why don't The Avengers all have their own signature themes? The Hulk should have a leitmotif for every time he shows up, for instance, but instead, the impact of so many iconic moments is diminished by the utter lack of any remotely memorable music.

The Guardians of the Galaxy movies basically realised that exploiting well-known pop music was easier than writing original music, but at least it tied into the plot well enough, and pandering though it is, it works more often than not.

Original scores, though, have been hugely underwhelming for the most part, with even the brilliant Michael Giacchino recycling parts of his own Star Trek score for last year's Doctor Strange.

Will It Be Avoided?: Early screenings reports state that Ragnarok mostly goes the Guardians route and uses a lot of pre-existing music (to admittedly entertaining effect), so no.

Plus, the film's composer is the relatively workmanlike Mark Mothersbaugh, so it's best not to expect much memorable in this department, sadly.

Will Thor: Ragnarok fall into the MCU's classic pitfalls, or can it rise above? Make your prediction in the comments!
