8. Captain America Made The World Endure More Of Hitler - The First Avenger

Now, nobody is going to say that Red Skull was in any way a good guy or that his aspirations for world dominion were to be encouraged, but his goal at the end of Captain America: The First Avenger is literally to march into Berlin and vapourise Hitler using his Tesseract-powered weapons.

He would have probably gone on to be a problem for the world, but they had Captain America to protect them, so it's not like he would have lasted long. Couldn't the good guys have just waited a little while and allowed him to go and kill Hitler before taking him down? Because Cap helped take him out of the game, Schmidt never made it to Berlin and was sent away to Vormir by the Space Stone instead.

Hitler, meanwhile, went on to keep his fist of terror closed around Germany and the rest of Europe for at least a few more months. In actual fact, the MCU slightly confuses when Schmidt seeks to take Hitler down: it's supposed to be in line with Germany retreating across Europe, which is why Schmidt wanted to take him down in the first place. But that happened as far back as 1943.

Regardless, Cap could have allowed Red Skull to kill Hitler and shaved at least two whole months and thousands of lives off the final toll of World War II.
