12 MCU Movie Endings With Disturbing Implications You Totally Missed
4. HYDRA Have Pym Particles - Ant-Man
In the rose-tinted view of the ending of Ant-Man, everything is solved, because Ant-Man and his crew take down Darren Cross and thwart his attempts to sell Hank Pym's shrinking technology to the terrorists he's amassed as potential clients. Given that the Ant-Man suit is classified as one of the world's biggest weapons of destruction, this is a good thing.
Or at least it would be if they hadn't just let one of the bad guys walk away with the technology they were trying to keep under wraps, that is. Which they did with former SHIELD Head of Defense Mitchell Carson, who was outed as a HYDRA agent and who turned up in Ant-Man looking to buy Cross' Yellowjacket technology (or at least lease it). The sale was foiled, of course, but in the chaos, Carson managed to steal the briefcase containing Cross' version of the Pym Particles and ran away, never to be heard of again.
In the excitement of the Thomas The Tank-Engine ending, it's easy to forget the fact, but it definitely happens and it definitely means that what remains of HYDRA (and there is SOMETHING remaining), has access to some of the most dangerous tech it's ever had.
