4. "Maybe it had a heart attack. Too much fatty food. Humans are full of cholesterol, you know!" (Jaws: The Revenge)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0KH-raFggUw If we recognize Caine for some of his greatest roles, it's only fair that we also recognize him for his worst. Caine was over fifty when he was miscast as heroic pilot Hoagie in the fourth Jaws movie. Of course, considering how terrible the movie is one could argue that everyone in the movie is miscast. Caine was required to deliver terrible dialogue throughout the movie, but none is worse and therefore more memorable than this awkward joke when the shark that is pursing the boat he is on has seemingly disappeared. What makes the line even more awful and stupidly impossible to forget is that Hoagie delivers it right in front of Ellen Brody (Hoagie's love interest), whose husband died of a heart attack and whose son had been devoured by the same shark. I am sure a widow whom you are romancing would really enjoy jokes about the deaths of her loved ones! Caine missed the opportunity to accept his Oscar for Hannah and Her Sisters in person because he was working on Jaws: The Revenge. That fact certainly adds to the "so bad it's good" quality of Caine's performance in Jaws: The Revenge and the movie's terrible dialogue.
