12 Most Disappointing Movies From Summer 2016

1. Warcraft

X-Men Apocalypse
Universal Pictures

The Buzz: Shout if you've heard this before: Warcraft is going to be the video game movie to break the curse and score high critical acclaim. It's got a solid ensemble cast and Duncan Jones (Moon, Source Code) directs with hands-on involvement from Blizzard: what could go wrong?

What We Got: Easily the most surprisingly dull movie of the summer. Sure, the CGI Orcs look fantastic, but the abundance of atrocious green screen used for the human characters, not to mention the cheap sets and costumes, make this look like an Uwe Boll film more than you'd want to admit.

Fans of the franchise might lap up the cavalcade of references, but for everyone else, it's really shocking quite how cliched, expository and unimaginative the whole thing is. Even the action is pretty bad, and whoever let the movie release with that awful-looking CGI rock golem should probably lose their job.

China saved it from box office oblivion, though, so a sequel is probably on the way.

Which movies disappointed you the most this summer? Shout them out in the comments!
