12 Most Disappointing Movies From Summer 2016
2. Suicide Squad
1255786The Buzz: This was going to be the movie that apologised for Batman v Superman. It was going to be more fun, be bursting with personality, introduce Jared Leto's manic Joker, set up a feud with Batman for the future, and basically end up as DC's equivalent of Guardians of the Galaxy.
What We Got: A fitfully entertaining if gigantically flawed superhero flick that pandered hard to audiences with excessive musical selections, before unraveling a threadbare, minimal plot and unleashing two utterly terrible villains on the Squad.
Sure, the performances are pretty great across the board (except for Cara Delevingne, who stinks something fierce), but the action is really lacking, the third act is a disaster, and overall it's just incredibly underwhelming.
Just wait for the inevitable Ultimate Edition that moderately improves things.
