12 Most Disappointing Movies From Summer 2016

X-Men Apocalypse
Warner Bros.

The Buzz: It's The Rock and Kevin Hart in a buddy action movie: what more do you really need to know?

What We Got: Again, this one isn't a bad movie by any means, but it sure is...just OK? Dwayne Johnson is always fun to watch and his chemistry with Hart here does propel the movie through some otherwise slack moments, but on the whole it just feels incredibly low-effort.

The plot is absolute nonsense and will fade from memory before the movie's even over, the action is similarly forgettable and it's pretty flat visually, so it basically coasts on the fact that the two leads are likable and play off one another well.

Even cameos from Jason Bateman and Melissa McCarthy fail to inject this one with much energy, and it's perhaps the quintessential "wait for Netflix" movie of the summer.
