12 Most Disappointing Movies From Summer 2016

10. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out Of The Shadows

X-Men Apocalypse
Paramount

The Buzz: Though many no doubt expected a dud right out of the gate, it's fair to say that Out of the Shadows actually raised some fairly solid expectations from its marketing: the film seemed to be far more fanboy-friendly than the original, what with the likes of Bebop, Rocksteady, Casey Jones, Krang and Baxter Stockman joining the fray. It looks like it knows exactly what it is: loud, dumb fun.

What We Got: Turtles Too is definitely dumb and intermittently fun, but it's also honestly a bit of a drag, even if it's an undeniable improvement on the original.

Yes, Mikey no longer creeps on Megan Fox's April and the fan service is for the most part pretty entertaining, but the plot is still painful to watch unfold, it feels agonisingly overlong at 112 minutes, the humour is immensely hit-and-miss, and Krang is barely in it.

Plus, its underwhelming box office performance means it's probably killed the franchise, so no more Krang for us. Boo.
