Spider-Man fans got a real shock at the end of Far From Home, when a character from a completely separate series of the spider-verse appeared. J.K Simmons returned as J. Jonah Jameson, the editor of the Daily Bugle, and certainly made an impression, exposing Peter Parker to the world in the film's closing moments.

It's inevitable Jameson will now have a more substantial role in next year's Spidey sequel, and his appearance does offer up a couple of intriguing questions. Is this version of the journalist different from Sam Raimi's trilogy, or are they one and the same? Does this mean we saw elements of the multiverse in Far From Home after all? And does this mean we could see other Marvel characters from outside the MCU re-appear in future films?

Whatever happens, Jameson's bound to cause tremors going forward.
