12 Most Fan-Pleasing MCU Movie Moments

10. The Immigrant Song - Thor: Ragnarok

Despite the fact that he's God, we've seen precious little of Thor actually going biblical in the MCU. Sure, he's proved his strength and his more showy powers have been a nice addition to the battle sequences, but there's not been that much that sets him apart from the humans he teams up with.

But to give him his due, he does know how to make an entrance - as he proved once more in Infinity War during the Wakanda battle - and his best came when he went Super Sayan in Thor: Ragnarok. Plucked of one of his eyes and seemingly on the verge of being killed by his sister, Thor had the sudden revelation that he had the Special Stuff inside him all along and became an actual conduit for lightning.

That prompted one of the most deliciously self-conscious fan-baiting moments in the entire MCU as time slowed to a crawl and we saw a fully empowered Thor gliding majestically through the sky against the sexed-up wail of Led Zeppelin's grand Immigrant Song. It's a beautiful opera of violence and character mythologising and it's impossible not to break out into a grin when it all kicks off.
