5. Giant Man - Captain America: Civil War

It might have been rather unfortunately spoiled before Civil War's release thanks to an early LEGO set leak, but the appearance of Scott Lang's Giant Man mode in the ensemble was easily that film's most rewarding moment.

We'd had some hints in Ant-Man that he was capable of growing to huge size - and Peyton Reed expressed his intent to explore that in the sequel - but it wasn't until the Russos got hold of Scott Lang that he was given the upgrade. And Paul Rudd was the perfect actor to be given the moment to play with. His Lang was established as a superhero fanboy who was over-awed to meet Captain America in an adorable moment and then seeing him enjoying his super-size for the first real time was even more rewarding.

Not only did it give us a call-back to the comics but it offered an opportunity for unprecedented action and some fight choreography that really tested the imagination of the Russos as film-makers. It's funny, spectacular and nowhere near as goofy as it could have been.
