Somehow throughout the promotions for his 2006 mockumentary Sacha Baron Cohen managed to stay in character as Borat Sagdiyev, Kazakhstans least favourite journalist no easy feat considering the amount of press conferences and interviews he attended. For those who were already familiar with Borat from Baron Cohens earlier projects it was hilarious, but those who werent in on the joke (namely Americans who hadnt grown up watching Da Ali G Show) there was a bit of confusion over whether this mouth party loving, mankini wearing oddity was actually for real or not.
