12 Most Fearsome Giants In Cinema

1. Mechanic #1, Raiders Of The Lost Ark (1981)

Former pro-wrestler Pat Roach appeared in all of the first three Indiana Jones movies, but it's as the Herculean mechanic that he's most recognizable. James Bond and the Dread Pirate Roberts are somewhere side-eyeing Indiana Jones, because he evidently didn't get the memo that gigantic henchmen only exist to make smaller heroes look good, because this 6'5" slab of Aryan beef absolutely trounced him. It's refreshing to see a henchman like this do so well. He doesn't get a name or even a real introductory scene. He just shows up at an inopportune moment and starts mauling the biggest star in 1981 Hollywood. At no point does Indy summon enough Protagonist Power to deal actual damage to the mechanic. He relies on dirty tricks just to stay alive, but any referee alive would have stopped this fight after the first couple of haymakers sent him flying. Indy survives, naturally, but only through blind luck. Rest in peace, Mechanic #1. You went the distance. You were the Rocky Balboa of hulking henchmen.
