12 Most Horribly Disappointing Horror Movie Villain Reveals

After experiencing a traumatic encounter in a mirror cabinet as a young girl, Adelaide Wilson (Lupita Nyong'o) returns to the California coastal town of Santa Cruz for a summer vacation with her husband Gabe (Winston Duke) and their children Zora (Shahadi Wright Joseph) and Jason (Evan Alex), thirty years later.
Things get creepy on their first day, when they're suddenly attacked by their doppelgängers.
In the final scene, we find out that Red was the original Adelaide, and the Adelaide we had been rooting for the whole time was the tethered clone.
It's one of those moments that make you rewind the film several times searching for a missed clue in an earlier scene, but actually find nothing besides a few more cheeky 80s references.
The truth is that Jordan Peele, in an attempt to live up to the status of his previous film Get Out, shoehorned a twist that makes absolutely no sense.
For one, why didn't Red, the original Adelaide start off by spilling the beans about the switcheroo that happened during her brief encounter with the fake Adelaide instead of opting for a long winded cat and mouse game?
This would have been much reasonable since the sole reason she's up there in the first place is to seek revenge for all those who were cursed to live horrendous lives as tethereds in direct contrast to their counterparts.
