12 Most Likely Villains For The Next MCU Spider-Man Trilogy - Ranked

10. Morlun

Tom Holland Venom
Marvel Comics

Sure, the multiverse is closed (for now), but it's still an established facet of Spider-Man's onscreen mythology. It's played a significant role in two Spider-Man films thus far (No Way Home and Into the Spider-Verse), and it isn't going anywhere. It's going to be central to the upcoming Across the Spider-Verse films, as well.

Just because it's closed now doesn't mean it's closed forever, and Doctor Strange isn't the only door to the multiverse. There's also Madame Web, who could conceivably play a role going forward. In addition to Web, we've got Venom, who - according to No Way Home writer, Chris McKenna - has a subconscious knowledge of the multiverse.

Any potential multiversal antics in the future could see Web and/or Venom putting Spidey on a collision course with none other than the vampire-like Morlun. As a member of the Inheritors, Morlun's sole purpose in life is to hunt down and kill as many Spider-Totems from the multiverse as possible. That would make him a natural final foe, not only for Peter, but for a variety of Spider-Folk from across the Web of Life and Destiny.

If Marvel and Sony wanted to stick to the multiverse, there's no better foe than Morlun.
