12 Most Likely Villains For The Next MCU Spider-Man Trilogy - Ranked
5. Morbius
Sony's Morbius movie is coming, and Sony's villain-verse is charging full steam ahead. What's more, he's inhabiting sort of a weird gray area. Is he in the MCU or not? The appearance of Michael Keaton's Vulture in the trailers says "yes." On the other hand, Morbius's reference to Venom in the latest trailer - who, as established in No Way Home, is not in the MCU - says "no."
The big question regarding his character (other than whether or not he's a part of the MCU proper) is where he'll end up falling on the villainy spectrum by the end of his film. Will he be in control of his inner demons? Or will he still be at the mercy of his darker impulses? If it's the former, then one has to wonder why or how he could be a villain.
But if it's the latter, then he could very well lend himself to a story set in this darker, edgier, lonelier stage of Spider-Man's life. After all, Peter just struggled against his own violent impulses in his fight against Norman, so maybe he could make it his mission to save Morbius from himself.
