12 Movie Moments That Pissed Fanboys Off The Most In 2016
8. The Horribly Forced Cameos - Ghostbusters
As if the movie's mere existence wasn't enough to send the fanboys into a frenzy, the woefully ham-fisted cameos from the three surviving Ghostbusters only doused more fuel on the fire.
First up, there's Bill Murray's phoned-in performance as a paranormal debunker, then Dan Aykroyd shows up as a cab driver simply to drop the "I ain't afraid of no ghosts" line in cringe-worthy fashion, and Ernie Hudson ends up playing Patty's (Leslie Jones) uncle in a brief appearance at the end of the film.
Murray and Aykroyd's cameos in particular felt incredibly low-effort and weren't really worth inserting into the film considering the lame payoff in each case. Hudson was unnecessary but not totally awful, though the more subtle ones (Annie Potts as a hotel desk clerk and a bust of Harold Ramis showing up at the University) were definitely more tolerable.
All these cameos are saying is, "Here are all the things you miss about the original movies."
