12 Movie Moments That Pissed Fanboys Off The Most In 2016
9. Only 1/3 Of The Movie Takes Place In The Animus - Assassin's Creed
Assassin's Creed's executive producer Pat Crowley sure wasn't lying when he confirmed pre-release that only 35% of the movie would be set in the past, even though fans hoped that number would be a little off in the end product.
You know what fans of the games love the most about the Assassin's Creed games? The past-set action in the Animus. You know what they're not so hot on? The present-day Abstergo nonsense.
Sadly the movie doubles down on the contemporary sci-fi bulls**** and the past action therefore feels like an afterthought, like something shoved into the film out of half-baked necessity.
If you can blame the movie's poor box office performance on anything (other than releasing a week after Rogue One, of course), it has to be how grossly it misjudged what its core audience wanted to see.
This could've easily been a slam dunk video game movie that was vastly superior to the rather mediocre source material, but instead it's yet another ill-conceived failure.
