As soon as a popular fantasy series hits big with cinema audiences, producers are quickly fumbling through bookstores to try and find the next big thing to adapt. That prospective series is the Divergent trilogy, three books written by Veronica Roth about a future where people are segregated depending on their personality traits, but one plucky femme (Shailene Woodley) is a "divergent" (meaning she doesn't fit any one personality type), and starts to fight against the system. It's no doubt going to try and capture the same audience who flocked to The Hunger Games, and popular though the novels are, from what we've seen so far, I just don't envision this one being anything other a novel adaptation that's quickly forgotten about, bombing at the box office much like Beautiful Creatures and Mortal Instruments: City of Bones.
