12 Movie Scenes You Didn’t Know Were Reshoots
2. Han And Lando Meet - Solo: A Star Wars Story
The production of Solo: A Star Wars story was less than graceful. From an outsider's point of view, it seemed in many senses like a nightmare that just wouldn't end. The movie was originally under the creative eye of The Lego Movie double act of Phil Lord and Chris Miller, who had a track record of getting fired or "let go" from almost all the projects they got attached to.
The majority of the movie was already filmed and in the editing studio before the announcement was made - that due to "creative differences", the two had been fired from the project, and would be replaced by Ron Howard, a close friend of George Lucas. If you sit down and watch the movie today, around 85% of the film is Howard's work, with only a small part belonging to Lord and Miller.
A number of rumours went around saying that the big bosses as Disney and Lucasfilm didn't like the way Lord and Miller presented themselves. Another claimed that the film was played for laughs with a lot of the comedy coming from improvised moments featuring Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian - which was apparently an issue for Han Solo actor, Alden Ehrenreich, who couldn't perform the comedy as well as his co-stars.
