A movie is usually known for what it had, what we see, and what we feel whilst viewing it in the cinema. That wasn't the case for 2015's The Fantastic Four reboot. This movie became famous for having almost none of the footage used in its advertisement trailers.

When the big guys over at Fox first got to see the first cut of the movie, they have been quoted as being "uncomfortable," with the finished product, and quickly moved into reshoots to fix the mess. Fox brought on a team of new writers to change the ending of the film but original director, Josh Trank was never contacted via the studio.

According to sources close to production, Josh Trank ended up writing pages of the script himself in hopes of putting his voice back into the film. These new pages were ignored by the studio. Trank also ended up re-editing the movie whilst Fox worked on their own cut of the film, both to be shown to test audiences.

As time advanced, it started to look less and less likely that Fox was ever going to use the Trank cut of the movie, and instead went ahead with their version of the movie.
