12 Movie Scenes You Didn’t Know Were Reshoots
11. 80% Of Them - Justice League
You could make a whole movie on the production history of the 2017 box office flop that was Justice League. A movie that should have performed amazingly well, considering it teamed up the most famous DC Comics heroes together on the big screen for the first time ever, and it was helmed by known film director, Zack Snyder.
But this just wasn't the case.
With the majority of filming complete and a handful of reshoots left to pick up, Snyder was forced to leave the project after the sudden and tragic death of his young daughter. It was passed onto Avengers and Avengers: Age of Ultron director Joss Whedon, who had also made a name for himself with a variety of sci-fi shows including Buffy the Vampire Slayer. It seemed the movie was in safe hands. But apparently, it wasn't.
Whedon was brought on to pick up the last few shots that Snyder was unable to do himself, but it later turned out that much more was happening behind the scenes. Whedon reportedly reshot around 80% of what had already had been filmed with Snyder, as well as filming the originally intended reshoots - far more than anyone could have likely expected.
The instruction to reshoot the scenes was given by the studio, but when the movie was released it was slated by fans, and the blame was thrown at Whedon's feet.
