12 Movie Scenes You Didn’t Know Were Reshoots
7. The Ending - Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World
Best known for his work with British comedy duo, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost in The Three Flavours Cornetto Trilogy (The World's End, Hot Fuzz and Shaun Of The Dead), director Edger Wright made his move to Hollywood with his 2010 movie, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World.
The film wrapped production by the end of 2009, but in the spring of 2010, it was forced back into the studios with Wright wanting to shoot more scenes for the movie:
“We are not even redoing one full scene, nor any action. Just some bits and bobs and new jokes and beats that I wrote with Bacall and O’Malley.” - Edgar Wright
Not only did Wright film some new "bits and bobs", he also filmed a whole new ending after test audiences responded negatively to the film's original ending. Star Michael Cera spoke about the screenings:
"There was one scorecard that came back and the person was raving about the movie and then a question on the card that said, ‘How would you describe your feelings about the ending?’ And the person just wrote, ‘Lame.'"
