1. Labyrinth Is Being Rebooted/Sequelised/Rebootqueled... Whatever, It's Disastrous
In more sequel/reboot news that absolutely nobody needs, TriStar are working hard to smush the memory of David Bowie into the carpet mere weeks after his death by confirming that they're redoing Labyrinth. It's not at all surprising, given the fact that the film was a disappointment at the box office and has since grown into a beloved cult affair, but there's no removing Bowie from the film's inherent appeal. It would be like remaking Robocop without the violence. Oh, wait. The vaguely good news is that the script will be written by Guardians Of The Galaxy co-writer Nicole Perlman, so that part should at least be good. But it's too hard to shake the idea that it simply won't be able recapture the magic without Bowie's swaggering goblin king, even if they choose simply to do a sequel set in the same universe (like Return To Oz).
