7. A Futuristic Robin Hood Is Coming

It's becoming way, way too easy to accuse Hollywood of laziness. Instead of looking to adapt new stories or look a little harder for historical or mythological sources that equalyl deserve the big screen treatment, every studio instead seems to just be thumbing through their Disney and childhood DVD collection for inspiration. The latest classic story that's set for an entirely unnecessary redo is Robin Hood, according to THR, which will be written by Tony Lee and brought to us by the team behind 300 and Immortals. Sounds awful. According to the news, all that exists of a synopsis suggests that it will be a "futuristic reimagining of Robin Hood" set in a "dystopian London with a rogue MI5 agent on a mission to avenge injustice." Quite why it needs to have anything to do with Robin Hood remains to be seen, but its working title is currently Robin Hood 2058 and Lee promised he will l "stay faithful to the legend's source material." Because there were loads of spies in that, weren't there?
