6. Zack Snyder Asked For Chris Nolan's Blessing
For all the concerns from Nolanite fanboys that Zack Snyder simply doesn't have it in him to make a worthy follow up to the Dark Knight trilogy, there's some sort of good news in that he sought his blessing to take the character on. As has been widely reported, Nolan said yes. Or at least he didn't say no. Reading his response via Empire, he didn't exactly sound thrilled:
You tell me if you dont want me to do it, Snyder told Nolan. After a silence, Nolan said, Well, we dont own these characters. When youre done making Batman movies, someone else will . I think he found it a little bit hard. I would feel the same way.
That's not exactly "giving his blessing" as everyone seems to have said: he just admitted he had no power to stop anyone else doing it. If that's taken as a positive, then it's an extremely thin one!
